JFK 50-Mile
This has nothing to do with the oboe, but is a big goal for me this year. I’m running a 50-mile race, on my 50th birthday.
Double Reed Day at the University of Tennessee!
Very excited to be bringing Reeds ‘n Stuff products to UTK’s inaugural double reed day.
Thank you sir, and Go Vols.
Carrying on the Dan Ross Tradition
Dan Ross was an oboist, professor, and entrepreneur. For approximately twenty years, Dan Ross would visit The University of South Florida to teach the many inner workings of creating reeds and playing the oboe.
Though he passed in 2019, Professor Amy Collins invites friends and colleagues to carry on the tradition and Mr. Ross’s memory. I hope you can join us!
Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra
The first candidate in the CSO’s Music Director search, Ilya Ram, brings his energetic charisma and expressive spontaneity to the Memorial stage for this mesmerizing performance. The evening commences with Felix Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream Overture," Op. 21, conjuring the magical realm of Shakespeare's iconic play through cascading melodies and whimsical harmonies. Grace-Evangeline Mason's "The Imagined Forest" invites listeners into a world of sonic wonder that blurs the line between reality and imagination. Richard Wagner's majestic "Entry of the Gods into Valhalla" from "Das Rheingold" follows, a triumphant procession that resonates with grandeur. The evening culminates with Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 5, a symphonic masterpiece that ebbs and flows like the Nordic landscapes it was inspired by, leaving the audience awestruck by its sheer beauty.
Baldwin Wallace University Double Reed day
I’ll be running an exhibit table for Reeds ‘n Stuff at this event organized by Professor Johanna Cox Pennington. Guest artists at this event are Pedro Diaz (English horn with The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra) and George Sakakeeny (Bassoon Professor at the Eastman School of Music).
