Professional English Horn Reed

A professional-quality, handmade English horn reed -- made to order, just for you. The details:

• Easy response.

• Pleasant tone – not dark, but not bright either, will blend well with an ensemble.

• Stable pitch.

• Tuned to A=440, crowing “C#” octaves, but with a little "rattle" - it'll be looser than an oboe reed.

• Available in medium or medium-hard strength. I can customize, if you have preferences - just let me know.

I use the following materials:

• Hand-gouged cane, either on a Reeds 'n Stuff or RDG gouge. If you have a preference, let me know.

• Cane shaped on a RIEH shaperform with a Reeds 'n Stuff shaping machine.

• Brass professional quality staple.

• I will most likely add a wire unless you say not to.

• I do not add aquarium tubing to these reeds. You may want to add that yourself, or you're able to use your preferred manner of securing the reed to the bocal.
